WHO WE INVEST IN
Small-Scale Fishers
We are dedicated to supporting small-scale fishers by enhancing their skills through targeted training. Our goal is to empower them with the knowledge and capabilities needed to improve their livelihoods and contribute to a more sustainable fishing industry.

WHO WE INVEST IN
Our People
We are committed to the growth and development of our Oceana employees. Our focus is on fostering career advancement and building leadership at all levels, ensuring that we have a skilled and capable workforce prepared to lead the industry.

WHO WE INVEST IN
Communities
Through our Corporate Social Investment (CSI) initiatives, we invest in selected community members. These programmes are designed to uplift individuals by providing valuable skills and opportunities for growth, supporting the sustainability of the fishing industry.
SKILLS WE DEVELOP

Land-Based Training
Our land-based training programmes support the essential shore-side operations that underpin the maritime industry. We provide specialised courses in areas such as fish processing, storage, distribution, and environmental management. These programmes are designed to ensure that personnel involved in these critical sectors are equipped with the latest knowledge and best practices, thereby enhancing operational efficiency and sustainability. By investing in land-based training, we aim to bolster the entire maritime value chain, ensuring that our partners, investors, and community stakeholders benefit from a robust and competent workforce

Sea-Based Training
Our sea-based training programs are tailored to prepare individuals for the realities of maritime operations. We offer comprehensive courses in sea safety, first aid, firefighting, and professional maritime skills, all designed to meet international standards and regulations. Our state-of-the-art facilities, including a firefighting training centre and pool training amenities, provide realistic and practical training environments. By focusing on safety and proficiency, we aim to reduce risks, protect lives, and promote a culture of excellence among seafarers, thereby ensuring the confidence of our partners and the well-being of our maritime communities.

Youth Development
As part of our mission to reduce youth unemployment and build a strong pipeline of talent, our youth development initiatives offer structured learning and career access in the maritime and fishing sectors. From learnerships for people with disabilities to our flagship Graduate Development Programme—designed to fast-track high-potential individuals in engineering and operations—we invest in young people with purpose. Through the Academy, we expose youth to real career pathways at sea and on land, with mentorship, technical training, and ongoing support. Many of our graduates and learners have transitioned into permanent roles, showing our commitment to meaningful, long-term change.
